First Step Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to charitable and educational causes that help advance successful re-entry and sustainable financial independence for justice-involved individuals. We seek to partner with re-entry programs, credit unions and Community Development Financial Institutions to fulfill our mission.

The Role
Our digital marketing intern is responsible for the management of our organization's social media presence in alignment with our mission, strategy and direction. You will play an important role in continuing to increase awareness for First Step Alliance and its important initiatives. Your ideas and input matter to us, and you will be considered part of our leadership team, helping us develop a robust marketing and community engagement strategy. We are also actively seeking grants from the public and private sectors and are looking for someone who can assist with identifying opportunities and writing proposal drafts.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in developing and executing marketing and community outreach strategies that leverage social media and email marketing.

Create content for use across social channels, including blog posts, status updates, photos and videos.

Manage and grow organization's social presence, with a focus on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Leverage measurement tools to provide progress reports and insights, while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Qualifications/Experience/Education:
-
1+ years of experience or BA/BS degree. Students currently pursuing their undergraduate degree will also be considered.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter, including content creation.

Basic knowledge of Canva and Wix.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.

Experience with social media advertising and marketing analytics a plus.

Knowledge of email marketing platforms a plus.
